Korea Lotto Jackpot Pays 4.79 Billion Won to Four From One Shop
The first-prize winning numbers for the 1,238th round of South Korea’s Lotto were 2, 13, 18, 32, 38 and 42, operator Dong Haeng Lottery announced on the 22nd. The bonus number for second prize was 22.
A total of 23 players matched all six numbers to win first prize, each receiving 1.197258718 billion won ($870,000).
Eighty-four players won second prize by matching five numbers plus the bonus number, taking home 54.636807 million won ($39,600) each. The 3,235 third-prize winners, who matched five numbers, each received 1.418700 million won ($1,030). A further 156,141 players won fourth prize for matching four numbers, drawing a fixed payout of 50,000 won. The 2,549,183 fifth-prize winners, who matched three numbers, each received a fixed 5,000 won.
Of the 23 first-prize winners, 10 chose their numbers automatically. The winning shops were the Jongno 3-ga Line 1 Exit 2 Street Stand No. 82 (Jongno-gu, Seoul); Gwajeong Mini Super (Yeonje-gu, Busan); Transit Card Recharge Station (Goyang, Gyeonggi Province); Pyeongchon Station Myeongdang Lottery Shop (Exit 2, Anyang, Gyeonggi Province); Haengbok Lottery Shop (Siheung, Gyeonggi Province); Cheonha Myeongdang Lottery Shop (Suwon, Gyeonggi Province); Nanum Lotto Convenience Store (Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province); Haengun Lottery Nara (Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province); Seongsim Sanghoe (Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province); and Mokhwa Rest Stop (Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province).
Twelve winners picked their numbers manually. Their shops were the Jongno 3-ga Line 1 Exit 2 Street Stand No. 82 (Jongno-gu, Seoul); Daeyeongdang Optical (Dongnae-gu, Busan); Baekgeumdang (Jung-gu, Busan); NBA (Yeongjong-gu, Incheon); Daebak Lottery (Clean Aid Sintanjin Branch, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon); Yuga-ne Lottery Shop (Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province); Jeil Lottery Cheongju Branch (Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province); Haengbok Lottery Shop (Asan, South Chungcheong Province); and the internet lottery site operated by Dong Haeng Lottery. Notably, four of the first-prize winners came from a single shop — Yuga-ne Lottery Shop in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province — all through manual selection. If the winner is the same person, that individual would receive 4.789034872 billion won ($3.48 million).
One winner used a semi-automatic selection, at Gold Lotto Lottery Shop (Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province).
Prizes must be claimed within one year of the payout start date. If the final claim day falls on a holiday, winnings can be collected through the next business day.
First-prize winnings are paid at NH Nonghyup Bank’s head office. Second and third prizes are paid at NH Nonghyup Bank branches, while fourth and fifth prizes can be collected at Lotto retailers nationwide. Regional Nonghyup branches do not handle payouts.
