National Lottery and Co-op mark £3bn Good Causes milestone

Allwyn and Co-op have launched a nationwide campaign celebrating £3bn raised for National Lottery Good Causes through National Lottery sales in Co-op stores since 1994.
Running until 1 September, the ‘Because Of You – £3 Billion’ campaign highlights how National Lottery players help fund community projects across the UK.
The activity is being rolled out across Co-op stores across the UK through National Lottery retail assets, Co-op retail media channels and dedicated activations.
In-store activity includes National Lottery playstation messaging, thank-you posters and special £3bn display units in selected high-footfall stores.
The campaign is also appearing across Co-op’s media network, including digital till screens, in-store radio, pin-pad surrounds, front-of-store digital displays, floor vinyls, member communications and social media advertising.
Five stores will receive dedicated takeovers showcasing local projects supported by National Lottery funding, including The Inverclyde Shed in Scotland.
Together, the five projects have received more than £1.7m in National Lottery funding.
A celebration was also held at Co-op’s Manchester headquarters on 19 August to mark the milestone. The event included the presentation of a commemorative ‘£3 Billion Thank You’ plaque by colleagues from Allwyn and Co-op.
Representatives from Guide Dogs UK attended the event alongside volunteers and Jumble, an 11-month-old Golden Retriever guide dog puppy in training. Guide Dogs UK has received more than £1.5m in National Lottery funding since 2014.
