Arizona Lottery repairman accused of groping Phoenix gas station worker

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An Arizona Lottery repairman is accused of groping a gas station worker while on the job last week.

According to court documents, David Reeves went into the Arco at 43rd and Northern avenues to fix a damaged lottery machine. The victim said Reeves had come to the store every month for the past couple of years.

Police said the victim was taking pictures of the machine for her boss when Reeves walked by and touched her chest. She was not sure if it was an accident or on purpose, so she did not say anything.

A few minutes later, she was sending pictures to her boss and Reeves reached out and grabbed her chest, court paperwork said.

She yelled, “Hey hey stop,” and “What are you doing?” and backed away from him, according to police.

Reeves followed her and reached out again but this time she stopped him, court records said.

Reeves reportedly said to her that she “didn’t have a problem with it the first time.” He then left the store.

The incident was caught on surveillance video, which showed the victim screaming and shaking her head no.

Police went to Reeves’ house in Peoria and arrested him Thursday. Detectives said he did not answer any questions about the inappropriate touching.

He was booked on three felony charges of sexual abuse. A judge set Reeves’ bond at $25,000.

An Arizona Lottery spokesperson said Friday the organization has been made aware of the incident, calling Reeves a contract employee.

“The safety and integrity of our operations remain our highest priorities,” the spokesperson said before declining to comment further.
