Wellingborough homeless charity handed grant from National Lottery to help continue vital work
The Daylight Centre has been handed a grant for £225,000 from the National Lottery over three years to help the charity continue its work in the community.
The grant for the Wellingborough-based charity comes from the National Lottery’s Community Fund, which supports projects in the UK for people facing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination, sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
For the Daylight Centre, the news ‘marks an exciting new chapter for our community hub’.
A spokesman said: “This investment will help us strengthen our trauma-informed approach, place co-production at the heart of everything we do and create even more opportunities for people with lived experience to help shape the services that support them.
“Most importantly, it means we can continue walking alongside people experiencing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion with consistency, compassion and dignity.
“To everyone who plays The National Lottery, thank you.
“Your support is helping us restore hope, rebuild lives and create brighter futures for the people and communities we serve.”
Funding handed to the organisation, based in the High Street, was raised by National Lottery players, and handed to charities and projects that continue to have a positive impact on the communities they serve.
