  • The Powerball Jackpot has skyrocketed to more than $600 million after no one has claimed the big prize since May 2

  • Meanwhile, the Mega Millions grand prize is now at $800 million

  • “The big prize is the tenth largest jackpot in the history of the game!” the lottery said

Lottery players have a chance to win a life-changing prize as the Powerball Jackpot increased to more than $600 million, while the Mega Millions Jackpot soared to $800 million.

This week, the main prize for Powerball reached $663 million, with a cash prize of $290.4 million, after there were no winners during the draw on Monday, July 27, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. There were no matches for the Jackpot, Match 5 + Power Play or Match 5.

On the previous drawing on Saturday, July 25, six players from different states came within one number of winning the grand prize, the association said. Each winner earned $1 million by matching all five white balls selected on Saturday.

But the Powerball Jackpot remains, with the next drawing scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at 10:59 p.m. ET.

The last time someone won the Powerball Jackpot occurred on Saturday, May 2, when winners in Florida and Texas split a $20 million grand prize.

“If a player from a participating U.S. lottery wins tonight’s jackpot, they may choose to receive the prize as an annuity,” the organization said, “paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or as a one-time lump sum cash payment. Both prizes are before taxes.”

Powerball tickets cost $2, and drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at the same time. Players have a one in 24.9 chance of winning a prize, while the odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292.2 million.

While Powerball heats up, the Mega Millions jackpot is even higher at $800 million, with a cash option of $344.2 million. The main prize increased to a historic level after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on the night of Friday, July 24.
