A single ticket sold in Arkansas won a $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot — the nation’s second-largest lottery prize ever and the biggest Powerball win this year.
Here are the winning numbers for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing.
A single winning ticket was sold in Arkansas for Powerball’s jackpot of $1.817 billion. The cash value prize was $834.9 million. It was the second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won.
The estimated jackpot is now $20 million with a cash value of $9.2 million.
The next drawing is at 10:12 p.m. CT on Saturday, Dec. 27, but ticket sales close at 9 p.m. Powerball drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
To play Powerball, you first select five white ball numbers. These five numbers will be between one and 69. Then, pick one “Powerball,” or red ball, number. This number will be between one and 26.
You could also choose to have the lottery machine randomly select your numbers for you.
For an extra dollar, you may choose to “power play,” which multiplies all non-grand prize winnings by a factor of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10.
