$78 Million Lotto jackpot claimed by a South Dakota trust

AUSTIN, Texas – A South Dakota-based trust has claimed a Lotto Texas jackpot worth an estimated annuitized $78 million just six days before the winning ticket was set to expire.

The Jua-Ri Trust Agreement Trident Trust Company Inc., of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, claimed the prize for the drawing held on Nov. 15, 2025. The claimant opted for the cash value option at the time of purchase, receiving $43,757,223.10 before taxes.

The winning ticket, which featured player-selected numbers, matched all six numbers drawn: 7-17-23-28-39-48. It was purchased at Gordon’s Bait & Tackle, located at 7066 Padre Island Highway in Brownsville.

The trust claimed the prize on May 8, narrowly beating the 180-day deadline for draw games. Under lottery rules, the ticket would have been forfeited after May 14.

This jackpot began at an advertised $5 million in February 2025 and rolled over for a record 116 drawings before the winning ticket was sold. At $78 million, it stands as the sixth-largest jackpot in the history of the Lotto Texas game.

Lotto Texas drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Players select six numbers from one to 54.
