New Lottery Winner Takes Home Record-Setting Jackpot
Rudolph Baumann from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, took home $3.8 million late last month after winning the Wisconsin lottery.
Baumann won the jackpot in the June 24 Megabucks drawing, a game in which players pick six numbers from 1-49. Drawings are held twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Players who match all six numbers win the jackpot, which starts at $1 million, while matching five, four or three numbers earns smaller prizes.
With odds of one in 7 million, the lucky Wisconsin man matched all six numbers to win the grand prize. The winning numbers were 1, 8, 12, 24, 26 and 27. Baumann purchased the winning ticket at a Kwik Trip in Saukville, just north of Milwaukee.

Fortunately for the Saukville Kwik Trip, Wisconsin lottery retailers who sell a winning ticket of more than $599 earn a 2% incentive, which can go as high as $100,000.
Baumann also set a Wisconsin Lottery record for 2026, winning the largest prize awarded by the lottery this year. It also marked just the second Megabucks jackpot claimed in 2026. The first came on Jan. 28, when a $1.5 million winning ticket was sold at Millgate General Store in Burlington.
While Baumann’s $3.8 million win is impressive, it was nothing compared to what John Rumpel won in 2015, taking home the Wisconsin Lottery record of $22.2 million from a Megabucks drawing. Even a Megabucks ticket won someone a jackpot of $7.1 million less than a year ago in Nov. 2025.
Megabucks is not to be confused with the national lottery game called Mega Millions, which now has a jackpot prize of $604 million.
