Richardson resident claims $41 million Lotto Texas jackpot

AUSTIN, Texas – A Richardson resident is celebrating a life-changing win after claiming a Lotto Texas jackpot worth an estimated annuitized $41 million for the drawing held on April 20.

According to the Texas Lottery, the winner chose the cash value option at the time of purchase and received $22,574,163.57 before taxes.

The winning Quick Pick ticket matched all six numbers drawn: 21, 28, 33, 34, 43, and 44. The ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven Convenience Store #36375A off Interstate Highway 30 in Mesquite.

“We haven’t missed a Lotto Texas drawing in 30 years,” the claimant said, adding that they have chosen to remain anonymous.

The claimant said their spouse discovered the winning ticket after checking it several times to confirm the jackpot. The spouse woke them in the middle of the night with the news, but quickly went back to sleep, while the winner stayed up reflecting on the life-changing moment.

“I stayed up all night thinking about it,” the claimant said.

When asked about plans for the winnings, the claimant said they hope to use the money to help their children and grandchildren, and also travel. “There’s a whole world out there I need to see,” they added.

The jackpot had grown over 66 drawings, starting as a $5 million prize in November 2025 before being won.

The retailer that sold the winning ticket may be eligible for a $25,000 bonus through the Texas Lottery Retailer Bonus Program.
