Someone has become a multi-millionaire and doesn’t know it

The winner of a $40 million jackpot in the ACT remains unknown, with the winner yet to step forward more than a day after the results were announced.

The Lott are still waiting for the third-biggest lottery winner in the ACT to step forward after the draw was announced on Thursday.

Powerball said that the winning entry was purchased from a NSW Lotteries outlet in the ACT.

“If the winner had been part of The Lott Members Club and registered their ticket to a player card or online account, they would have already been alerted to their good fortune,” Powerball said in a statement.

“The winning entry was purchased at Thistle Kiosk, Shop 4A, Westfield Woden, 1 Keltie Street, Woden.”

The vendor has a history of selling tickets to winners, with seven division one winners sold from the Woden store in the past 20 years.

In the ACT, players have up to six years to claim their winnings.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart is now urging the mystery winner to check every possible place for the ticket that will change their lives.

“Could this winning entry be tucked away in their car or wallet, or stuck on their fridge door? There’s 40 million reasons why ACT Powerball players should check their tickets today,” he said. “Imagine discovering you’re suddenly a multi-millionaire! You could immediately retire, take the trip of your dreams, or spoil those nearest and dearest to you.”

The winning numbers in the Thursday draw 1571 were 7, 29, 25, 18, 26, 23 and 17.

The all-important Powerball number was 16.
