Our sources at the Louisiana Lottery confirmed to us early this morning that a $100,000 Powerball winner was sold in the state, as well as a $130,000 Easy 5 Jackpot winner. Both big wins came in drawings held on Wednesday, June 24th.
In the Easy 5 game, it had been “8 drawings” since the game had gotten a jackpot winner. The last jackpot spawned by Easy 5 was on May 23rd, so it’s been about a month. Based on our historical averages, Easy 5 usually gets a winner after six drawings, so this big win wasn’t that out of line with what history has to say on the subject.
How Much Was Louisiana’s Big Win in Powerball on Wednesday?
The $100,000 win in Powerball from Wednesday’s drawing has been a bit out of the ordinary as far as how history looks at Powerball wins in Louisiana. The last time a Louisiana-sold ticket earned a prize of more than $10,000 was on June 3rd. That’s when a ticket earned a $150,000 prize.
