Entrants have 180 days to claim their prize from the day of the draw, with this winner cutting it fine.

This National Lottery draw took place on November 1, 2025, with the team searching for the winner over the past months.

Lotto operators Allwyn issued an urgent reminder to anyone who entered the draw to check old coat pockets and handbags for unclaimed tickets.

It stated that the ticket had been bought in South Gloucestershire.

Today, it has confirmed a claim for the £1,000,000 was received, with the deadline being midnight tomorrow.

The ticket-holder matched five of the six main numbers – 17, 18, 31, 36, 39, 51 and the Bonus Ball number 29.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, said, “WOW, this is truly incredible. To receive a claim for this life-changing £1 million Lotto prize in the final hours before the final deadline is absolutely extraordinary.

“While it is unusual for prizes to go unclaimed, players coming forward at this final hour is even more rare.

“We search for missing winners, so to see a claim come in following our appeals to unite the lucky winner with their £1,000,000 prize is just fantastic.

“Huge congratulations to our Lotto winner, we’re absolutely thrilled to now be supporting them as they begin what will no doubt be a remarkable, life changing journey.”

This is not the first big prize to be claimed in South Gloucestershire with just one day to go before it expired.

In 2014, James Wilson from Bradley Stoke, Bristol, found an old EuroMillions ticket when clearing out his wallet just the day before the deadline to claim.

The then-28-year-old checked it and found it was worth £51,232.90.

The claim will now go through the process of validation before the winner is paid out.

The winner can then decide whether to go public with their news.

There is another £1,000,000 EuroMillions winner from the areas of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Players are searching for the winning Millionaire Maker code of HPCF58869 from the November 4, 2025, draw.

The deadline to claim this is midnight on Sunday, May 3.
