Check those tickets – big 6-figure EuroMillions prize was won in Cork

The punter came one number short of the multimillion-euro jackpot

After announcing that a lucky Irish player won big in the EuroMillions draw last night, National Lottery bosses have revealed that the golden ticket was bought by a punter in CORK!

Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €175 million as no one scooped the top prize, while one player in Cork came achingly close by matching five numbers and one lucky star.

Lottery officials have just revealed that the winning ticket was purchased online, somewhere in Co Cork, on Wednesday, 3rd June.

They’ve won an incredible €365,515. A notification has been sent to the winner advising them to log in and check their National Lottery account.

The winning numbers in the Friday, 5th June draw were: 05, 06, 16, 17, 49 and Lucky Stars 02, 12.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said: “While over 69,000 players in Ireland won prizes across the EuroMillions and Plus games on Friday night, it was an online player in Cork and a Wicklow player who won the biggest prizes of the night.”

One player in Wicklow is also certain to be celebrating today after matching five numbers to win €21,357. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Thursday, 4th June at Tesco, Wexford Road, Arklow, Co. Wicklow.

Both winners who have tickets worth €365,515 and €21,357 are advised to contact the Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit the Winners Room in Lottery Headquarters to collect their prizes.”
