Euromillions lottery winner dies in suspected Essex hit-and-run
Anthony Canty won the Euromillions lottery jackpot days after saving the life of a police officer
A Euromillions winner who saved the life of a police officer just days before scooping the £1m jackpot has died in a suspected hit-and-run.
Father-of-two Anthony Canty, 39, was knocked off his bicycle in Tiptree, Essex, on 21 May and died in hospital four days later.
The water supply worker had given the police officer CPR when he collapsed on a bus in April 2020, and netted the huge lottery prize shortly after.
Essex Police said the driver of a Ford KA, 18, was arrested in connection with the collision and later released under investigation.
