Irish Lotto jackpot won as mystery player scoops €8.7m fortune

Ireland’s newest Lotto winner has scooped a €8.7 million jackpot, with the location of the winning ticket yet to be revealed.
The search is on for Ireland’s newest multi-millionaire after a lucky player scooped the Lotto jackpot on Saturday night.
The winner is set to take home a life-changing €8,726,418 after matching all six numbers plus the bonus. The winning combination was 1, 7, 27, 28, 34, 42 with bonus number 26.
The exact location of the golden ticket is not yet known, but is expected to be revealed tomorrow. National Lottery officials confirmed this big winner is among over 101,000 players who picked up prizes across the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws tonight.
In the main draw, smaller prizes were claimed by 18 players who matched five numbers to win €1,803 each, while 44 players who matched four numbers plus the bonus claimed €186 each.
There were no winners of the €1 million Lotto Plus 1 top prize or the €250,000 Lotto Plus 2 jackpot. However, one player in the Lotto Plus 1 draw won €5,000 after matching five numbers plus the bonus, while two players in Lotto Plus 2 won €2,500 each for matching five numbers plus the bonus.
Meanwhile, 88 players won €500 each in the Lotto raffle draw, with winning number 2431.
National Lottery bosses are encouraging players to check their numbers carefully. The jackpot winner should make contact with the their prize claims team so arrangements can be made for them to collect their life-changing fortune.
A spokesperson said: “There was one winner of the Lotto jackpot. In total, over 101,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws.”
