What’s more, it was announced this week that Powerball would be expanding across the pond to the UK.

Just this week, “the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), representing 39 U.S. lotteries, announced…(an) historic agreement with Allwyn UK, the government-authorized operator of The UK National Lottery,” according to Powerball.

“Through this agreement, the number of lotteries pooling funds for the Powerball jackpot will increase from 48 U.S. lotteries to 49 with the addition of The UK National Lottery — marking the first time a non-U.S. lottery will contribute to the jackpot,” a press release said.

The first drawing will be later this summer, according to Powerball.

Here in the U.S., there have been three Powerball winners so far in 2026. The most recent winner was on April 6, when a player from Delaware took home a massive $231 million jackpot.
