Michigan woman is packing for Florida after $100,000 lottery prize
WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – A Michigan woman is packing her bags for Florida after winning $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Poker Lotto game.
To win the prize the woman matched the cards drawn on May 16, 10 of clubs, king of hearts, ace of hearts, ace of diamonds, and king of diamonds.
The 56-year-old Washtenaw County woman chose to remain anonymous.
The woman says she rarely plays poker lotto.
She wasn’t sure how to check her ticket, so she had her son take a look.
“When he told me I’d won $100,000, we both started yelling and jumping up and down, since winning, I’ve tried to stay calm because I don’t want to let money change me, but it is pretty exciting to be here claiming $100,000!” said the woman.
She bought her winning ticket at Early Times Liquor Store, located at 2433 East Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti.
The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her prize. With her winnings,
“I don’t think it’s going to fully sink in that I won the lottery until I’m sitting on the beach in Florida in a few days. I’m buying my plane ticket as soon as I leave here!” said the woman.
she plans to take a trip to Florida, share with family, and pay bills.
