ProVerb and Anele Mgudlwa named hosts for Lotto and PowerBall live draws

ProVerb and radio and television personality Anele Mgudlwa have been announced as the hosts for the Sizekhaya Lotto and PowerBall live draws, the operator confirmed on 3 June 2026.
Who will present the draws
Rapper, television host and media personality ProVerb and radio and television icon Anele Mgudlwa are the faces chosen to bring the live lottery draws back to television.
When the draws take place
The draws are scheduled as follows: PowerBall on Tuesday and Friday, and Lotto on Wednesday and Saturday. The new operator’s first draw was on Tuesday evening and was hosted by ProVerb.
ProVerb on hosting the return
On Instagram, ProVerb whose real name is given in the announcement as Tebogo Sidney Thabiso Thekisho reflected on hosting the first PowerBall draw. He wrote:
“Tonight marked the return of the National Lottery live draws & I had the privilege of stepping onto that stage as one of the new hosts. Grateful for the opportunity to be part of a moment that many South Africans remember fondly, now reimagined for a new era. Here’s to possibility, anticipation, and making every draw count.”
Anele Mgudlwa’s experience
Mgudlwa has presented television shows including Celebrity Game Night and Real Talk With Anele, and has more than two decades of experience in radio. The announcement states she is currently the host of Anele and the Club on 947. The report notes she is yet to take the stage as one of the two live-draw hosts.
What this means for viewers
The return of televised live draws places familiar broadcast personalities at the centre of the National Lottery’s live moments, with ProVerb already having presented the first draw under the new operator and Mgudlwa set to join him on future draws.
