Ask a Swede why they play the Postcode Lottery and you’ll usually hear the same two reasons: the chance to win and to do a bit of good along the way.

The Postcode Lottery is a unique concept built on the idea that you can win together with your neighbours. A million Swedes aged 18 or over take part for the chance to win prizes every month, including a mix of cash, cars and other products.
Since it started in Sweden in 2005, more than 1,939 people have become millionaires. During 2026, prizes worth over 1.6 billion SEK will be awarded. On average, every sixth ticket wins each month, and in 2025. An average of around 9,000 prizes – some big, some small – were announced every day.
How it works
In the Postcode Lottery, prizes are drawn for a winning postal code – so when your area wins, you and your neighbours win together. Each ticket contributes to a surplus that supports 62 nonprofit organisations, helping to create a healthier, fairer, greener world for people, animals, and nature – a cause close to the hearts of most Swedes. To date, the lottery has distributed more than 17.6 billion SEK to organisations which make the world better, making it Sweden’s largest private donor to the nonprofit sector.
Chance to win 100,000 SEK per month for a whole year
If you buy a ticket before June 30th, you have the chance to win 100,000 SEK per month for a whole year per ticket. And if you don’t win anything in 3 months, you get 500 SEK back*.
The subscription-based lottery is linked to your postcode, so when your area wins, you and your neighbours win together.
A ticket costs 188 SEK per month and gives you a new chance to win every day. Prizes range from 500 SEK on weekdays to 100,000 SEK per ticket on Fridays, while every Saturday brings the chance to share a million kronor with your neighbours. On top of that, a Volkswagen ID.4 car is raffled off to one lucky winner.
You can also upgrade your ticket with Plus or Premium for extra chances to win each month – while still keeping all your regular draws. With Plus, for an extra 20 SEK per month, you’re in the running to win 10,000 SEK a month for five years, a prize awarded per ticket in a winning postcode. Premium, for an extra 40 SEK per month, takes things up a level, offering the chance to win a monthly “dream prize” worth anywhere from around 250,000 to 2.5 million SEK. The Premium prize changes every month and is also awarded per ticket in a winning postcode – and if you’re a Premium player, you’re automatically included in all the Plus draws too.
