AsiaSat 7 (AsiaSat 5S) is a commercial communications company of Hong Kong- based AsiaSat .
It was brought to a geostationary orbit by a Proton-M / Bris-M- carrier rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome on 25 November 2011 at 19:10 UTC .
The three-axis stabilized satellite with 28 C-band -, 17 Ku-band – and aKa-band – transponders equipped and supplied from the position 105.5 ° East from 50 nations in the Middle East, Southeast and Central Asia with television programs. It serves as a replacement for the AsiaSat 3S satellite launched in 1999 . It was built on the basis of the satellite bus LS-1300 of the US company Space Systems / Loral (SS / L) and has a planned service life of 15 years.
