Nepal’s Dish Home TV set for growth after AMOS-4 deal

Nepal’s sole national direct-to-home (DTH) operator Dish Media Network has boosted its agreement with Israel’s Spacecom for extra transponder capacity on its AMOS-4 satellite.

AMOS 4 9 May 2017Located in orbit at 65°East, the extra capacity on AMOS-4 is designed to enable Dish Media’s Dish Home satellite TV service to expand its range of standard and high definition (HD) channels.

“This agreement will keep our growth trajectory moving forward and upwards. Our deep association with Spacecom’s AMOS-4 enables us to build out and expand our brand, further our strategic goals and strengthen our operations throughout Nepal,” said Sudeep Acharya, CEO, Dish Media Network.

David Pollack, president and CEO of Spacecom, added: “This agreement with Dish Media Network adds strength to our position in Asia. AMOS-4’s power and focus on Asia makes it a prime choice for providing a range of satellite services in the region, as well as in East Africa.”
